Just renewing your license plates used to require a trip to the DMV but now most states offer on line renewal for plates, tags, decals and stickers. You can even find vanity plates or specialized plates from your alma mater from your home computer.
Many Drivers License renewals can be completed online. A new license still requires a trip to your local DMV office but check out our Approved Identification list before you go. Don’t make a second trip because you didn’t have a certified copy of your Birth Certificate!
Title and registration forms for cars, motorcycles, RVs and 4WDs can also be found in the My-DMV section. Many forms can be downloaded, printed and mailed to save you a trip.
If you absolutely cannot get out of the trip, check our Local Offices pages to confirm the location, hours and services offered. You can even print a map so you won’t get lost along the way.
With any luck you will be able to find a car, check the history, register it, buy insurance, study for your Practice Test, take your Drivers Ed course and get your Temporary License all before you leave the house! And if you don’t find what you need, tell us so we can include it in the future.
